Grace Tsoka Center Director While Grace isn’t from St. Louis originally, you wouldn’t know that from talking to her. She loves Imo’s Pizza, the Cardinals and Forest Park. She moved to Missouri with her husband in 1999, and began working as an office manager at Providence Christian Academy. Four years later, she came to TLC Preschool and took to it like a pro. Under her guidance, teachers and students quickly grew together in faith and love through the implementation of the Howard Gardner Method and My Father’s World curriculum. As director of TLC Preschool, she strives to provide a bright future for kids by giving teachers the flexibility to cater to each student’s needs. This approach helps build crucial skills like sharing, communication and friendship. “I love the constant excitement the kids and the teachers have,” she said. “We strive to provide a place to let your inner kid out.”

Marilyn Hofmann Teacher, Pre-K to 4-year-olds (Foxes) Marilyn is veteran childcare professional. Before coming to TLC Preschool in August, she taught at North County Christian School for several years. Prior to that, she helped out with her neighbor’s in-home daycare. She loves the flexibility she has to shape the curriculum to each student’s needs and to ensure that all of the students are having fun at TLC Preschool. “My favorite thing to do with the kids is “getting their wiggles out,”” said Marilyn. “The children dance around, shake their arms… It’s a fun way to get ready for nap time.”

Whether it’s in the gym playing ball, in the classroom with building blocks or outside on the playground, she loves how each individual kid’s personality shines through in how they play. Her favorite books to read to the children are fairy tales. “They are always a crowd pleaser!”

Her favorite things about TLC Preschool are the kids and the perceptive things they say.

Jean Moffett Teacher, 3-year-olds (Owls) Miss Jean has been an invaluable member of the TLC Preschool team for over a year. Now, she would say her kids at TLC Preschool are the ones giving her a continuing education. “I learn just as much from them as they do from me,” she said. She loves taking her students outdoors to get their hands dirty and learn from real-world situations. Her experience and attention to each student’s needs are a gift to her fellow teachers and students alike.
